Good afternoon class,

Ooooh how exciting – my first ever FOTD!!  ♥ I’m not super amazing at doing my own makeup but I do enjoy having a bit of a play around now and then. I think the thing I find most difficult about blog posts such as these is the fact that I am not only terrible at taking photos (especially eye makeup ones) but I also have a crappy iPhone 4S (PLEASE help me convince my boyfriend to let me buy the 6 – for the love of God!). So, I apologize in advance that I’m not a beautiful model/makeup artist however some Plain Janes or Average Joes like myself (or anyone really) might be interested all the same.

I’m going to show you a select few selfies that made the cut, as well as some (average) photos of my eye makeup and then tell you all the products I used and in which order. Hopefully it all works out okay, and I’d love any constructive criticism on not only the look but the products I used or the way I took the photos. Lemme have it!

Excuse the messy bedroom but here we have it…. drum roll please… my face of the day! You may think that I’m going out clubbing or to a wedding or a special event… alas, I was just watching Shaaanxo on YouTube and felt like having a play around. The only place I’m going today is most likely the supermarket, and no I wouldn’t recommend this one for school (if you’re a teacher or student) mainly because of the excessively long lashes.

How did I get such a flawless base you may ask? Well, let’s have a little chat shall we? I started off by using the Lush Tea Tree Toner spray to tone my face and clean away and dirt/oils. Then I went in with some moisturizer and a bit of Porefessional by Benefit which I used my fingertips to pat all over my face – focusing on the parts which have larger pores or get slightly oilier.

I used a mix of Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in Cool Bone 1W1 and Kat Von D Tattoo Lock-it foundation in Light 46 which I applied using a damp Beauty Blender sponge. I LOVE this mixture of foundation – they are like exactly the same colour and they match me perfectly and the liquid formula of the DW makes the Kat Von D less cakey and dry. They give amazing coverage!

After this I used some of the Benefit Stay Don’t Stray over my lid and under eye area and applied some of the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla all under my eyes to hide any dark circles. I used a small tapered face brush to pat a little bit of the e.l.f. Under-eye Setting Powder to set the concealer.

For my eyes I used the NAKED 2 palette and used the blending side of the brush it comes with to apply the shade “Tease” in my crease, I used the other side of the brush to apply the shade “Chopper” all over my lid. I blended them together with a little more “Tease” and then used a mixture of “Busted” and “Blackout” on my outer V area. I used “Bootycall” to highlight my brow bone and my inner corner. I ran a little bit of “Chopper” and “Tease” under my lower lash line as well.

I used the Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner pen to do my winged eyeliner and then used some of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara all over my lashes. I used the DUO lash glue to apply Shaaanxo’s xoBeauty lashes in “The Glamourista” as closely to my upper lash line as I could.

I fixed up my under eye concealer and used the Australis Fresh & Flawless powder all over my face to set my foundation. Then I went in with the NARS Laguna bronzer with a Real Techniques Bronzer brush and applied that over my forehead, around the outside of my face and on my cheeks. I went in with some NYX powder blush in “taupe” to contour my cheekbones and my nose.

I used MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Lightscapade to highlight the tops of my cheek bones and a little touch of the Too Faced Sweethearts blush in “Peach Beach”.

Lastly, I popped my Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in the shade Anarchy all over my luscious lips.

I then looked at myself in the mirror and spent about 104667337373 years taking selfies until I found a few that were somewhat decent. Now, here we are.
