Just a quick post today, but I thought I’d share with you my Face of the Day! Now, I am always completely honest with you all, and this is not necessarily my FOTD today as such, but it was my FOTD once upon a time I promise!

Anyway, today’s makeup features a RED lip which is something I don’t rock that often. I’m not sure why because red is apparently very flattering for my skin tone, but I just don’t reach for my reds! I think because they tend to go everywhere so they’re a bit risky to wear to school.

Anyhow, today is red lip day. And I actually sort of love it.

These are the products I used on this look… I know it looks like A LOT – but honestly I swear it’s not! & you could definitely recreate this same look using way less products but because I have a literal tonne of makeup I like to try and get some use out of it all.

Basically, I moisturized my face and then applied some Benefit’s Porefessional on my t-zone and on my cheeks and chin and patted it down with my fingers.

I applied my Kat Von D foundation with a damp beauty blender and used only a teeny amount and blended it all over my face – a little goes a LONG way with this foundation! Super high coverage!

I applied some of Benefit’s Stay don’t Stray primer underneath my eyes and on my eye lids and patted it down with my fingers until it had sunk into my skin.

I put some Collection concealer under my eyes and used my fingers to pat that down to conceal my under eye circles – make sure you pat down the concealer with your fingers because the warmth of your skin helps it sink into the skin nicely.

I set my concealer with the Ben NYE powder in Cameo and I set my foundation with some Fresh & Flawless powder by Australis – I’m not sure how I feel about the Ben NYE powder as an all-over face powder but it’s fine enough to set your concealer.

Then I used a small contour brush to apply NYX Taupe to contour under my cheek bones and down my nose, and then used some Benefit Hoola as an all over face bronzer – focusing on the sides of my forehead and face – NYX taupe is honestly the best contour product a pale person can own.

I used some of my NARS blush in Angelika on my cheeks and some MAC Lightscapade dusted lightly over my cheek bones as a highlight – this is the perfect brightening highlighter!

I used my ELF brow kit to fill in my lashes a wee bit and then went over them with some of ELF’s clear brow gel. I love ELF products for eyebrows!

I used the Mauve colour in my Lorac PRO palette in my crease, some Stila Kitten on my lid and in my tear duct area and some of the Satin Taupe colour my MAC on my outer V. – I am OBSESSED with the Mauve in the Lorac palette! But you could use any medium brown/matte pinky nude brown colour and anything shimmery on the lid would look fantastic.

Then I popped a bit of the Stila liner in my water line and used the Benefit They’re Real liner to do a small winged liner look. I love the Benefit liner for doing a wing – it makes it so much easier and it is sooo nice and black but doesn’t smudge!

I popped some Better Than Sex mascara on my lashes but obviously you could use any mascara you like! I am obsessed with this one though – it makes your lashes perfect.

Lastly, I didn’t use a lip liner because I don’t have one in an appropriate colour but I slapped some Ruby Woo all over my lips and voila! The finished look. 🙂
