PR Gift Haul + First Impressions Part 1

PR Haul First Impressions Kitten Garnier Manuka Doctor Kardashian Matrix

Ni Hao Class!

Today I am dying to show you some of the gorgeous products I have received through PR companies over the past few months and give you a bit of a first impression and my thoughts on them so far. If you would like to hear more about any of the products featured please let me know and I’ll write an in-depth post and tell you all about them. 🙂

As a disclaimer, I was so excited and blessed to receive all of these goodies and this post is not sponsored in any way however I was gifted the products for free ❤

Manuka Doctor Age Defying Eye Cream

Manuka Doctor Eye Cream Age-Defying Kourtney Kardashian

I was sent this a wee while ago but I wanted to give it a decent try before I talked about it. I feel as though eye creams need a good few months to do their stuff before you can say whether they are any good or not.

Firstly, the cool thing about Manuka Doctor is that Kourt Kardashian is now the face of Manuka Doctor (a bit of a win for a wee NZ company!). The second cool thing is that they use some super cool ingredients like Bee Venom (not great if you’re allergic, but fab if you’re not!) and of course Manuka Honey.

This eye cream is marketed to

*Target dark circles and wrinkles

* Smooth and plump skin around the eyes

* Brighten

* Reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Well I am sort of getting on a bit these days, I’m on the way to 30 now in any case and my under eye area has been getting a bit creasy and *shock -horror* I think there’s been a few wrinkles developing round there! Eeek.

I wish I had a before/after photo for you because I am so sure there is a difference but I can tell you I am definitely getting less creasing and my under-eye area does appear less wrinkled-looking! Which is exciting because it makes me feel young again! Someone thought I was still a school student a few weeks ago! Yeow!

As for the dark circles – I never had any before so I wouldn’t know. I can’t tell if it’s brightened either as I already have super white skin everywhere.

I haven’t seen any smoothing or plumping of the eye area but I wasn’t worried about that in the first place so I probably wouldn’t notice if it did or not.

I know I’ll definitely be continuing to use this wee beauty and I’ll keep you updated on the results!

The price is $35.95NZD for 15ml but my bottle still looks full and I’ve been using it for a few months so I think that’s pretty cheap for an eye cream, especially if we consider it’s NZ made and contains some lovely ingredients!

Have you tried this eye cream? What did you think of it?

Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner + Defining Gel Cream for Curly Hair

Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner and Defining Gel Cream Curly Hair

The Cleansing Conditioner really intrigued me when I read the press release for it. A conditioner that cleanses? So like don’t I need a shampoo?

The answer is no! You totally don’t. This is a one-step product that involves cleaning and conditioning together. It’s 100% NOT like those kids shampoo+conditioner products that make your hair feel awful. This is a gorgeous soap-free shampoo designed to preserve and define the structure of your curls! However they also have formulas for other hair types.

If you are someone that is constantly running late in the morning (me), or someone who prioritizes sleeping over showering and doing makeup (me) then this would be perfect for you as it takes out a step in the washing hair process.

I tried this in between normal shampoo+conditioner days (although it can also be used daily) and it did make my hair feel and look nice. It smells pretty great too. I guess my hair is not SUPER curly so there wasn’t a huge difference to the way it looked but it definitely felt nice afterwards and it was cleaned and conditioned enough (if you know what I mean).

The Defining Gel Cream is a nice product too. It smells good, makes my hair feel nice, reduces frizz a bit and doesn’t leave a gunky feel on the hair like some cream products like that can do! I think it is a nice accompaniment to the Cleansing Conditioner but I haven’t seen a huge amount of difference to my hair when using it. It’s not a miracle product but it’s nice.

If you’re looking for something to make washing your hair a bit quicker and easier + if you’re looking for a nice product to tame your frizzy hair then this could be for you. If you don’t have curly hair then check out the products for other hair types.

In NZ or AUS I would buy this from Recreate Yourself. It’s $30.42NZD for the Cleansing Conditioner and $22.80NZ for the Leave-in Treatment.

Have you tried this before? What did you think!?

Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water + Cotton Pads + Mini Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Water Pure Active oily Skin

Oh how I adore the Garnier Micellar water. I’m not just saying that. I’ve tried other brands of Micellar water and I will keep coming back to Garnier!

The mini bottle of the original formula is awesome! I am doing a bit of travel coming up so it will be perfect to take during that! I have reviewed the original formula here – Garnier Micellar Water Review.

The Cotton pads are so amazing that I will never go back to my $2 Kmart ones (even though they’re so much cheaper!). The pads are nice and thin but super strong and padded and the makeup doesn’t go through to the other side when you use them so you can use both sides with ease. I would DEFINITELY recommend them especially for use alongside the Micellar Water.

The Pure Active Micellar Water does the same as the original formula however it’s better suited to oily/combo skin prone to imperfections. That is my exact skin type (well the oily/prone to imperfections type) and I’ve actually broken out on my chin really badly lately and this product has really settled it down. It’s got eucalyptus extract and zinc which is fantastic as eucalyptus is amazing for soothing angry skin and zinc is great for fighting acne!

I really love this new Pure Active formula for my skin type and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with similar skin to me 🙂
