Good morning class,
Prepare yourselves… I’ve done ALOT of shopping lately. This is not, I repeat, IS NOT the last haul post. I have at least 2-3 more hauls coming to the blog this week (and probably next week). So, I hope you like hauls because that’s what you’re getting!
I decided to post hauls rather than reviews at this stage, because they’re what I like to read/watch the most so hopefully you’re all similar in that respect.
This is a mix of PR products and products which I’ve bought with my own money. Mostly bought with my own money but I thought I’d better disclose that now, before you think I’m completely crazy!
Essence: Soo Glow! in 10 Look On The Bright Side, Eye Shadow in 01 Snowflake and Lash Princess mascara in Black.
Essence is a UK inexpensive brand which has recently been released in NZ and sold at Farmers stores around the country. I can’t remember the prices of these individually but nothing is over $10 – yes! A range in New Zealand where nothing is over $10 and the products are actually decent! I know right, super hard to believe.
The mascara is pretty fab. It was around $6 and it’s got a nice comb brush which I like. It separates and coats the lashes nicely. Don’t use too much or it will go clumpy! But it’s totally worth it for $6.
The eye shadow is super pigmented for something that was about $2 and it’s really pretty! You get a decent amount in the pan and they have a nice range of colours. I would 10000% recommend them (not that I need more eye shadows but ya know).
The highlighter is one that everybody is talking about. Like that man, and his dog, and his neighbor, they’re all raving over this one. I was lucky to pick this up because they’ve been selling out everywhere! The pigmentation is fantastic and it’s lovely and creamy to work with! I like using it as a highlighter base with more highlight powder over the top for a #strobing look. Yeah, that’s right. I’ve been strobing for forever. It’s nothin’ new. Mainly cause I’m too lazy too contour and too obsessed with highlighters.
L’oreal Brow Artist plumper
Again, not sure of the price on this one because I got it for freeeee! I won it from the lovely ladies at Beauty Review – if you haven’t heard of them, check it out. Amazing website where you can read reviews and review products yourself and even get sent free things to trial!
ANYWAY. This is a mascara-type product for your eye brows. It’s to fill them in and add more volume as well as keep them in place. It’s very similar to Gimme Brow and I’ve tried Gimme Brow by Benefit but I think this is better. It’s HUGE. It’s got the perfect formula – keeps your brows stuck in place for forever! The size of the brush is perfect. Honestly, I am in love.
Gerard Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Candy Kiss by Shaaanxo and Highlight Star Powder in Marilyn
The swatch didn’t come up well at all – I blame that on winter lighting – but this is a really pretty highlight powder! It’s a gorgeous gold and makes my face shine like a Christmas bauble. The only thing is that the powder feels really weird after a few uses. Like quite thick and dense? It’s hard to explain – I will keep you posted on how I go! Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Stay tuned on my Instagram for better highlighter swatches (again, I’m so sorry this one is awful! I will try use it in a makeup of the day post/photo for you!).
The lip gloss in Candy Kiss is gorgeous. It’s 100% a Shaaanxo colour if I’ve ever seen one. It’s a great colour because it looks great over a pink lipstick, a nude, or a coral. The packaging on this is stunning. Not only does it look nice, but it has a mirror AND when you open the lip gloss to use it, there’s a light inside! This makes it super duper easy to use. The only thing I’d change is making the doe foot applicator a little bit bigger. Other than that, it’s great, for a lip gloss that is -(Usually I’m not a huge fan, but I’ll make an exception for Shannon!).
Maybelline New York Color Drama Lip Pencils $10NZ
As SOON as I got the red lip pencil in my MUO Beauty Box I just had to buy more! The velvety texture, the colours, the ease of application. I was sold. These babies are good. The hype is 110% real. Honestly, buy them. I didn’t realize they were only $10 or I would’ve bought them sooner!
I got two more in the colours Nude Perfection and In With Coral. I bought mine from Life Pharmacy in Auckland but they’re sold anywhere that stocks Maybelline and range from $10-$14 NZ. Nude Perfection is perfection. I absolutely love it. I love that you can use these as a liner or a lipstick or both! In With Coral was a different choice for me because usually I don’t do coral. However I figured this one is pretty pinky toned so I thought I’d make it work. Plus I justified it because I have barely any corals in my collection!
NB: I’ve bought another one since taking the photo and EVEN since writing most of this post. I got the pink one and I love it! ❤
Deep Cleansing Oil: I haven’t tried this stuff yet, because I’ve been lazy with taking off my makeup. But apparently it’s one of Za’s most popular products so I look forward to having a try! My skin is quite sensitive so hopefully it doesn’t break me out – but it does look promising!
Perfect Action Mascara: My friend told me that this one was good, so I thought I’d put it to the test! I haven’t opened it up yet, because I’m trying out that Essence one first. But it’s on my list – let me know if you want to hear about it once I’ve tried it!
Deep Hydration Lasting Moisture Gel: This one is a new release by Za and it is fab! I’ve been using it for the last few days and even with my oily skin it’s been lovely. It makes my skin feel good, and I love the gel-like consistency. It’s only been 3 days so I’ll let you know once I’ve given it a good go, but I like it so far.
Impact Full Eyes Eye Shadow Palette in My Best Jacket:
It’s handy to have a small eye shadow quad with such wearable colours! This one would be perfect for travel. I haven’t had a chance to try it on my eyes yet, but the swatches have come up pretty well. That highlighter shade is REALLY pretty in real life, and the combination of colours is perfection. I am excited to try this out.
Cheeks Groovy in June Bride and Glowing Pink:
I’ve tried these blushes and they are #life. Honestly LOOK at the pigmentation. June Bride is a total dupe for NARS Albatross and Glowing Pink reminds me of Orgasm by NARS. The wee brush they come with isn’t too bad either as far as brushes-with-products go. It would be good for travel. Both of them are gorgeous shimmery shades that blend nicely and look gorgeous. June Bride is the perfect highlight shade, it’s super light and pigmented. Glowing Pink gives a gorgeous glow to the cheeks and has that Orgasm gold glitter effect. These retail for $20 NZ and they’re awesome products if you’re after a new blush or highlighter!
Vibrant Moist Lipsticks
I was sent two of these beauties to try, however I already owned one which I loved for forever. These lipsticks are so nice to wear! They’re creamy and hydrating like a balm but still have the pigmentation that you want from a matte lipstick. I’ve worn them a couple of times now and I’ve just noticed that they’re so delightful to wear. They feel comfortable on the lips and that’s important to me!
The colours I recieved are RS444 and PK444. They’re totally “me” colours because they’re bright and pink! Ask anyone at school and they’ll tell you the same! We had to wear pink a few weeks ago for a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser and ALL of the staff joked that it wouldn’t be hard for me to pull that off. Plus my class (and last years) all know pink is my ultimate favourite colour. So I’m excited that my readers are obviously picking up on this pink vibe from my blog too. PINK4LIFEXOXOX.
ANYWAY, bit of a tangent there, I do wish the lipsticks had proper names. It was a real pain in the butt to have to find the lipsticks to write down the correct colours because there’s no way on earth I’d remember that. Plus cute names help me decide which shades to buy! These lipsticks sell for around $20 which is a pretty decent price for a lipstick in NZ!
I like the packaging on these too, nice and sturdy. It doesn’t feel cheap at all and I think it looks quite sleek and expensive.
Colourpop: Highlighter in Lunch Money, Super Shock Shadow in Swan and Birthday Girl, Bronzer in Skinny Dip and Lippie Stix in Westie.
I can almost picture you all rolling your eyes at this one. What a surprise Miss White! More Colourpop! Don’t worry, my friends and family are saying the same thing! Yes, I am obsessed with Colourpop. Yes, I’ve accepted it. Let’s move on. There will forever be Colourpop hauls on this blog and if you don’t like it, you’ll have to deal. Let’s be fair though, we all like Colourpop don’t we! 😉
Anyway, obviously I had to try the Bronzers AND I couldn’t resist when all the orders came with a free eye shadow IN PINK PACKAGING! I am a sucker for packaging and this one really got me. I usually order with my friend Olivia, but this time we both wanted the free shadow so we made separate (smaller) orders! The packaging was $15US but I got the free shadow and I got $5 off with a coupon code – (can’t remember what it was, but Google it?). So, it was sort of worth it!
The shipping took FOREVER this time (or so it seemed – maybe I was just excited). However it had the usual amazing packaging and nothing was broken thank goodness!
Lippie Stix in Westie:
I am liking this lipstick! To be fair, I’ve got a million things like it. But I like to get an assortment of products when I order from Colourpop so I had to get a Lippie Stix and this is the one that I got. The usual pigmentation and everything and it’s like a dark muted pink colour. Not too dark, but sort of like Snob by Mac but slightly darker. It’s a matte lippie and it was $5 US. I haven’t really worn it yet but will keep you posted!
Bronzer in Skinny Dip:
Omg guys, I don’t know how I’m gonna use this damn thing! I find it difficult to use the highlighters at the moment because of my current foundation routine (by the time I get to the rest of my makeup after foundation, it’s dried because I get changed and stuff in between). However the bronzer is the same consistency as the blushes and it is gorgeous. I’ve had a fiddle with it but I’ve been a bit too nervous so far! It’s a very good colour for pale skin though by the looks of things.
Highlighter in Lunch Money:
Ooooh I love this one! It’s super pigmented which is good – some of them aren’t as pigmented as I’d like personally, but this is lovely! I’ve been using it as a base highlight with a powder highlight over the top which looks stunning. It’s like a perfect champagne colour and it would suit most skin tones I’d say! Very pretty.
Super Shock Shadows in Birthday Girl and Swan:
For those of you that know me, or have followed my Colourpop journey you’d know that I also own the shadow Tassle. Now Swan and Tassle look very similar in the pan. Don’t judge! They’re different I swear! Tassle is more of a stark white whereas Swan has some reflects of gold and even a bit of pink in there ever so slightly. It’s honestly a gorgeous colour. I am in love with it. It’s right up my alley and it looks insanely good in the tear duct area to highlight. ❤ ❤
Birthday Girl is gorgeous as well. It’s not as pigmented as some of the similar shades but it looks fantastic in the middle of your lid with some darker browns through the crease and outer V. I absolutely love it and I LOVE the packaging! It’s nice. Good for a freebie!
I am absolutely loving all my new products and I apologize in advance for the multitude of hauls which will be coming to your screens in the next week or two! Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them? Is there anything here that you’re interested in trying or that you want to hear more about? Let me know!
Also if you’ve posted about a haul lately – flick me a link! I’d love to have a read! (Hauls are my fave posts to read and favourite videos!) ❤
