Colourpop Haul & Review – Part 4 (told you I was addicted!) ♥♥

colourpop haul

Good morning class,

Got some good news! Another Colourpop haul! Yes. Obviously I’m still obsessed and still Colourpop’s best customer. Nope, no sponsorship deals yet haha – fingers crossed 😉

Anyway, if you know me – then you blimmen’ well know that I am ADDICTED, OBSESSED, INFATUATED, CRAZY FOR, MANIC, and PASSIONATE about Colourpop. I honestly don’t know what it is. But I cannot help myself. ALL of this has been bought with my own money and I can tell you right now, when I told my mum how much I’d spent thus far… she was not impressed! Let’s hope the boyfriend doesn’t find out eh?

I am hoping that you guys like Colourpop as much as me, considering I talk about it ALL THE TIME. However, I feel like Colourpop is something that people of all ages could get into – I’ve got my mum addicted as well! Their colour range is phenomenal and there is something everybody would like. Whether it’s your nana, mum, dad, brother, auntie, friend – you name it, they’re bound to be interested in SOMETHING from the range.

Shop Colourpop here

This time I picked up four of the new highlighters (how could I NOT!?), four eye shadows, four Lippie Stix, and one Lippie Pencil. I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks because I wanted to haul & review them for you – otherwise I’ll get excited and want to write about them again!

Note: One Lippie Pencil & Super Shock Eye Shadow is missing from this photo due to it being already opened and used. x

Highlighters

Honestly, there’s no way on earth I could wait until the end to talk about the highlighters. Highlighters in general are my favourite makeup product. Due to the fact that I am obsessed with shimmer, glitter, and light shades. Therefore it’d be rude not to mention them first 😉

I bought four of the highlighters (but have another one on the way, and more in my cart). I got from top left to bottom right; Stole The Show, Monster, Wisp, Hippo.colourpop highlighters

Stole The Show looks a bit munted because it was broken via transit and I had to squish it back together (however the beauty of these products is they can squish back together so easily and become as good as new!).

My FAVOURITE shade has to be Monster – it’s like a bright, light coloured shade with this amazing duo chrome pink shimmery amazingness to it. Like, you’ll see on the swatches below that it’s got this gorgeous pink sheen to it and it comes up AMAZING on the cheek. It honestly is the most outstanding highlighter I’ve ever used. It looks unreal with a light pink blush and I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear it. I wore it the other day and one of the girls in my class looked at me for a moment and proclaimed – “Miss White, you have a really nice face!”. I put it all down to this highlighter.

Stole The Show is my next fave because it’s got everything I love in a highlight. It’s pigmented, light champagne, plenty of shimmer and pink, gold and silver glimmery bits. It is perfection in a highlighter.

The feel of these highlighters is a mix between the blushes and eye shadows. It’s SO easy to apply (I rub my fingers in the pot, and pat it onto my cheek bones after applying foundation). You only need the tiniest bit and voila – you’re a goddess!

Hippo is a gorgeous bright shade with lavender and lilac undertones and gorgeous shimmers throughout it. Probably the least pigmented of the bunch, it still looks gorgeous on the cheek for a more subtle highlight (rather than a glitter bomb).

Wisp is the epitome of Soft and Gentle by Mac in a Colourpop highlighter. It looks dark in the pan and in the swatches (just like S&G) but once applied it comes off as this gorgeous golden highlight that makes you look like a mermaid-slash-Greek goddess.

colourpop swatches moster hippo stole the show wisp

colourpop highlighters swatches

They’re not the most amazing swatches of all time because they’re highlighters so they’re not exactly easy to swatch. They’re not supposed to be super duper pigmented because, well, you don’t want a pigmented line of gold across your cheeks do you!? Hopefully my wrinkly finger-swatches will help you get an idea of the colours. But you probably just need to buy them. All of them. And buy me some too.

Super Shock Eye Shadows

colourpop eyeshadows

I bought four Super Shock Eye Shadows in the colours (from left to right) Bite, Game Plan, Get Lucky and So Quiche.

So Quiche happens to be my most favourite colour out of every eye shadow I own by Colourpop (which is alot). It’s really hard to do it justice description-wise as the colour simply won’t show up in photos. However it’s like a browny, gun metal sort of colour with some silver shimmer in it… but GET THIS. It also has these amazing pink & violet duo chrome metallic shimmer glitter bits in it which make it AMAZING. Colourpop says it’s the “Queen of the shadows” which I totally agree with! A MUST HAVE.

Bite is awesome because it’s a perfectly pigmented matte white. So handy to have in your collection and I find it applies nicer than the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk so I recommend it. Good as a base for your shadow to make the colours pop!

Game Plan always reminds me of that stupid movie with The Rock in it. However it’s an amazing bronze-orange colour which makes your eyes POP. It’s perfect on the lid with a nice dark brown underneath and it is quick and easy to apply and REALLY pigmented.

Get Lucky is basically just the perfect gold. In fact, I think even Colourpop themselves describe it as that too. I agree with them. It’s just a really nice gold. Nice and metallic and pigmented. It is fab.

Lip Products

Girrrrl, you know I won’t be making a Colourpop order without some lip products! I won’t be making any orders without lip products. I am a lip product addict. See: 50 Shades of Pink

colourpop lippie stix

I got four Lippie Stix in the colours Pepper, Tootsie, Leather and Corset + the matching Lippie Pencil for Tootsie.

I got the lip pencil in the shade Leather in one of my first hauls and stupidly didn’t buy the lipstick. Finally I have it in my hot little hands and we’re just in time for autumn! This colour is outrageously pigmented. It’s a matte formula and it looks AWESOME. It brings me back to my emo days that’s for sure.

Pepper is VERY similar to Brills (See: first Colourpop haul) however it’s slightly more pink than purple and it is a bit more wearable. I am loving it actually and I like how it’s sort of inbetween pink and purple. Seems like the perfect Miss White colour.

Corset is in the Hyper-Glossy formula and it’s the first glossy lipstick I’ve tried from Colourpop. I hate glossy lipsticks because they’re never pigmented enough and they don’t last very long. This one, I find is actually neither of those things. It’s ridiculously pigmented for a glossy lipstick and it lasts for ages! Not quite as long as a matte but it’d give them a run for their money! The glossy finish looks gorgeous on the lips and I am obsessed.

Tootsie is literally an exact dupe for Underground by Gerard Cosmetics – honestly, it’s exactly the same. I actually think Toosie is a better formula too! It’s creamier, lasts longer, and you can buy the lipstick and matching pencil for half the price of Underground. Underground is supposed to be a dupe for Cashmere by Lime Crime which means I guess Tootsie is also a dupe for that too. I LOVE Tootsie – I find this colour is really flattering on my skin tone!

colourpop swatches leather pepper corset tootsie

Well, overall it was a GREAT haul! I picked up some new favourites and I finally got to try the highlighters I’ve been lusting after for so long. If you haven’t tried Colourpop yet, you honestly need to. You’re missing out! The Highlighters, Blushers and Bronzers are only $8 US and the Lippie Stix, Lippie Pencils and Super Shock Eyeshadows are $5 US. It’s actually unreal. If you live in the US and you haven’t tried them yet then I’m banning you from my page until you make an order (not really, but please make one!). If you don’t trust my advice then do a quick Google search and you’ll see the millions of positive reviews about Colourpop!

Za Cosmetics foundation & BB cream review + ANOTHER GIVEAWAY! ♥ ♥

ZA Cosmetics Foundation

Good morning class,

Today I’m excited to share with you a review on the three Za Cosmetics foundation-type products I own! I’ve been trialing these for a month or two now and I’m getting ants in my pants because I just want to tell you all about them! I’ve also got a Za Cosmetics Blender Sponge to giveaway as well which is one of my FAVE cheaper versions of the Beauty Blender. Stay tuned for how to win!

I’ve got the Za True White Liquid Foundation, the Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV and the Za Skin Beauty Liquid Foundation to review and I will do a wee bonus review on the Za Blender Sponge as well!

Za Cosmetics were kind enough to gift me one of these products (the True White Liquid Foundation) but I got the other two myself. You can buy Za Products from these stockists in store or here online

Za True White Liquid Foundation

This one is my FAVOURITE of the three because it’s more up my alley. It’s medium coverage but easily blended to a full coverage, it lasts for most of the day (which is pretty good considering my skin is literally an oil slick, and it has an awesome range of lighter shades! Which is great if you’ve got fair to medium skin tones but not so great if you’ve got a darker skin tone. It’s also the most expensive at $25 NZ – however $25 for a foundation = pretty awesome in my books! I think this one is great value and it looks gorgeous, dewy and BRIGHT on the skin. It sinks into the skin and feels really lightweight despite being a medium/full coverage foundation. I like to wear this one when I want fuller coverage but I don’t want to feel all cakey and I don’t NEED it to last all day flawlessly. I mean, don’t get me wrong. This stuff does have great lasting power! However when you’re an oily teacher in a hot classroom who likes to touch her face, NOTHING lasts long on that mug. I’d say it would last all day on most people. It doesn’t slide off my face either which is great! Not sure about dry skin – however my good friend Olivia (Xlivlovesmakeup) over on YouTube did a review of it as well here and she has dry skin! Subscribe to her please – shes a total babe!

ZA Cosmetics Foundation

Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV

Okay – I just want to start by telling a little story. One day I had a few pimps on my tomato-red chin (ladies time) and I was mucking round home but wanted to chuck on SOMETHING so I didn’t have to screw my face up in disgust every time I caught sight of myself in the mirror. I popped on a bit of this BB cream with my Za Blender Sponge and set it with a tiny touch of powder, a swipe of mascara and went on my way. Fast Forward to about 30 mins later. Tom comes in. Looks at me and is like “WOW you look gorgeous without makeup babe”. Moral of the story – men can’t tell whether your wearing makeup or not, and this BB cream is my new fave. It gives a really decent amount of coverage for a BB cream. It’s SUPER lightweight on the skin. It actually FEELS amazing on the skin – like it’s definitely hydrating! I really love it for a BB cream and I’d definitely wear it out (which is a big call because I rarely leave the house without a full face – mainly due to the fact I love applying makeup more than anything but also slightly because of that dreaded tomato chin). Would totes recommend it – plus it only costs $15! Steal.

ZA Cosmetics Foundation

Za Skin Beauty Foundation (apparently in the swatch I thought it was called Perfect Fit for some reason… excuse that)

This foundation is definitely my least favourite of the bunch. With my skin type and my preferences it really doesn’t do much for me. It’s definitely a light coverage – lighter than the BB cream. It doesn’t sit on my skin nicely and I don’t think it mixes well with my oily skin. It is advertised to “instantly even out skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores” which is definitely not the case for me. My skin is quite scarred from break outs on my chin which is probably why I don’t like it because it’s simply not pigmented enough to satisfy my coverage needs. However, it would be perfect for someone who was only after a light coverage, matte finish foundation. It’s definitely not a bad foundation, it feels nice on the skin, it blends out nicely and applies well, the colours are great for fair skin and it does give some coverage, however I cannot get it to work for me unfortunately! This one retails for $20 🙂

Overall

I think Za Cosmetics makes some pretty decent foundations + products in general. I’ve recently acquired a whole lot of their products (some gifted to me by the company, and some from friends or purchased myself) and I am really loving them! They have a great price point for New Zealand, they’re good quality, they have a HUGE range of makeup and skincare and their sister brand Moisture Mist is also fantastic. They also have great customer service and they do a whole lot of giveaways and deals over on their Facebook page – check it out!

ZA Cosmetics blender sponge

Za Blender Sponge review + giveaway

So I also got two of the Blender Sponge’s from Za and I am LOVING using my one! It’s definitely not beauty blender – however it’s difficult to compare it to the beauty blender because the bb is so different to this product. The Za sponge is larger and more dense than the beauty blender and is more comparable to the Real Techniques sponge. I actually prefer it to the RT sponge because it’s bigger and a better shape which makes it easier and quicker to use. Lord knows I’m always trying to find ways of making my makeup routine quicker in the morning when I’m running late and this product does that! I find the application of the product itself no different to that of the beauty blender or Real Techniques sponge and I actually find this product much easier to clean. It doesn’t store away old product inside the sponge like the beauty blender does. It’s easy to get out ALL of the product from inside the sponge and then it’s as good as new again. Personally, for the price (around $20 but they often have deals where this is free with another face purchase etc), I think that this is a fantastic sponge. It applies product nicely, is quick and easy, simple to wash and lasts longer than the other sponges I’ve tried.

I’ve got one of these sponges to give away to a lucky reader in NZ + some other Za goodies! The reason why it’s only NZ is because when I do an international giveaway I want to give away something expensive to make it worthwhile because of shipping etc. If I posted this sponge internationally then the postage could cost nearly as much as the sponge itself! So stay tuned for an international giveaway.

Gerard Cosmetics Lipstick Haul + Review + Giveaway ♥♥

Gerard Cosmetics Swatches 1995 Underground Buttercup Giveaway

Good morning class,

It’s my BIRTHDAY TODAY! Woohoo! Although I don’t know why I’m celebrating because I’m basically an old woman now.

Today I want to share with you my Gerard Cosmetics haul. If you want to buy some of these products check out the range here

They have fantastic sales and discount codes running all the time, so follow their social media for updates! They often have free shipping which is the ultimate winner for me!

I picked up 6 of the lipsticks in their range (one for the giveaway and 5 for me). I got the shades 1995, Underground, Buttercup, All Dolled Up and Cherry Cordial + an extra Underground for you guys because I assumed that would be the colour I’d love the most (I was right!).

I was unbelievably excited for this order to come. The swatches online looked so good, the packaging is gorgeous and I’d ordered lots of nude/neutral shades which I’m loving at the moment. It did take about 2 weeks and the tracking doesn’t work properly for us in NZ which sucked because I was being super impatient. I just wanted to swatch them!

Finally the order came, packaged quite well with an information card + discount code for my next order. Quite impressed. The only downside was that the lipsticks don’t come in any packaging like plastic wrap or a wee box – this sort of freaks me out a bit. Although when I opened them for a look they all look untouched (+ I promise the giveaway one has been untouched as well!).

Here are the swatches;

Gerard Cosmetics Swatches 1995 Underground Buttercup Giveaway

I have found all the lipsticks apart from Buttercup to be well pigmented. Buttercup is quite light and not pigmented enough to cover my natural lip colour. So I’ve been using it over the top of a nude lip liner which is worked okay. (Although I actually left Buttercup in the car and it melted and got a little bit deformed – hopefully you can’t tell in the pictures though). Don’t get me wrong, I love the shade of Buttercup and it looks great over a lip liner but the pigmentation is definitely not consistent.

As for the formula as a whole, it’s quite a matte formula which i like and it’s smooth and creamy to apply at first, although I find it gets quite drying on the lips and my lips looked a bit gross after a day at school because they were just SO dry. They’re not those lipsticks that you can just keep re-applying over the top, you actually have to take the lipstick off, put a bit of balm on and then reapply. Which is admittedly a bit of a pain, but the colours are SO gorgeous that it’s worth it.

The packaging looks gorgeous but it is quite tinny. It’s not quite as luxurious as I imagined, however for the price you pay for the lipstick + the look of it, it’s still fantastic in my books. I love the way it’s like a mirror (although that makes it hard to take photos). They look great on display and are easy to find in your bag.

Although these lipsticks aren’t super long-wearing, they do feel nice on the lips at first application. The colours (bar Buttercup) are super pigmented and creamy, they are just awesome colours, the packaging does LOOK gorgeous, they’re super cheap, they do free shipping and many of them have matching lip glosses (which I want to try next!) Overall, all things considered, these lipsticks are awesome for the price! I probably wouldn’t buy them full price (although I hate paying full price for anything), but when you’ve got a discount code I think they’re a good product especially with the range of colours. I recommend them!

My personal favourites are all of them. I LOVE Underground, it’s such a different colour. One I don’t have in my collection but it looks super flattering on the lips. I am OBSESSED. 1995 I thought would be way too dark for me, but in fact it looks perfect. Makes me feel like a 90’s kid again. All Dolled Up is the perfect Candy Yum-Yum alternative. It’s a Miss White sort of colour. Cherry Cordial is AMAZING and it’s my FAVE I think. It’s so flattering on my skin tone and perfect for autumn. Buttercup is a nice almost glossy finish, perfect for over the top of a lip liner.

Shhh! Miss White’s Beauty Secrets – (7 tricks I couldn’t live without!) ♥

Good morning class,

Sssh! Today I want to share with you my TOP beauty secrets – straight from the head of Miss White herself. They’re probably nothing too mind-blowing but I always find it helpful to hear other people’s tips and tricks that they’ve come across over time so I thought I’d let you know mine. (I am LOVING both gifs and Pretty Little Liars at the moment – for any PLL chat, comment below! I love to gossip about it!)

Note: these top secret secrets may have been taken from various websites, gurus, magazines, people, grandmas, friends etc. Nothing’s original these days is it. However these tips are ones that I personally use daily and that work for me, so I feel like that’s all that matters here.

Tip #1: SARD WONDER SOAP. It’s the stain remover of the Gods. It’s the ONLY bar of soap you need in your lives. It. Is. King of the Soaps

SardWonderBarSoap

(Not my photo)

.

I always see people on Facebook (especially my beloved Makeup Obsessives) in a complete panic over a simple stain on a favourite dress or something similar. Truly I tell you, you will never have this problem again after purchasing this $3.50 goodness from your local supermarket. This will take out basically any stain it gets it’s greasy mitts on. I’ve found if you get at a stain early and with this soap, it will always come out. The same cannot always be said for older stains, but it does fade the tougher ones and gets out most of the others. I also use this soap to wash my brushes if they’re packed with product, my beauty blender, dresses with fake tan or makeup on them, my tanning mitt, my white shoes, the list goes on. I go through a bar of this stuff every few months and it’s the most handy cleaning product I own.

This one I’ve seen on Facebook and Instagram etc, so it’s on oldie but a goodie. I’m sorry if you’ve seen it before but it’s something I couldn’t live without knowing now. So in case you haven’t seen it, here we go.

beauty secret tip tricks drying brushes

Tip #2: Using hair ties to dry your makeup brushes. Whoever came up with this idea should have seriously copyrighted it or something because it is genius!

Basically, you wash your makeup brushes (I use a mixture of SARD wonder soap (for really foundationy brushes), Shampoo, Conditioner and Garnier Micellar Water – if you were wondering), then I give them a big ole shake to shake off the excess water (and it helps them stay in shape) and then I hang them off something (towel rail, drawer handles, coat hangers) upside down by getting a thick hair tie and making a loop around the towel rail and putting the brush handle through the loops. They usually dry within a day and they always stay in shape! Plus it means that water doesn’t run into the handle and loosen the glue!

Tip #3 Using cellotape to get the perfect winged eyeliner! This one I’ve seen Shaaanxo do on her videos and since then I’ve been using that little trick nonstop! I’ve also used an old fly buys card or a paper card as well.

You hold the card or stick the tape on an angle from the corner of your eye. Then you’ve got a perfect line to draw your liner on and it’s extremely straight and sharp. It’s also ideal because you can use any type of eyeliner with it. So if you’ve got one that’s super hard to wing with then you can use that with this technique!

Tip #4 follows a similar road and it’s using an old card (eftpos, fly buys, coupon etc) to apply your lower lash mascara. I use this trick ALL the time! Honestly whenever I remember. I have quite long bottom lashes but I always get mascara all over my lower lash line and it’s a pain in the butt! So when I use a card or something it makes them look SUPER long and there’s no mascara all over the show!

Basically, you put the card underneath your lower lashes and apply your mascara as usual. Warning – you will have mascara all over the card or whatever you used but it’s a small price to pay for bangin’ lashes!

Tip #5 Shave your legs with conditioner. I buy crappy cheap conditioner and slather it on my legs when I shave. It’s a way cheaper shaving cream and it’s just as easy. It makes my legs feel SO good afterwards as well. The only downside with this one is it makes your razors last slightly less longer if you don’t clean them well afterwards. But, we can deal with that for super smooth silky legs right?

makeup obsessives

Tip #6 Join Makeup Obsessives on Facebook. Honestly, I learn tips and tricks from that page every day! It’s amazing! There’s something like 20,000 girls and guys on there who are all as obsessed with makeup as I am. They’re always posting about new things, and wee tricks and ideas. They post about good sales, where to buy their favourite products, what their favourite products are, the products they don’t like… etc. It’s the best kept beauty secret if you’re not a member. Get on and join! Plus their Queen and page creator Kirsty Leigh is an absolute babe and is super friendly and easy to talk to!

Tip #7: EXFOLIATE your lips before lipstick! I am super lazy when it comes to doing my makeup and I’m usually in a rush, but I’ve found that every time I don’t use a lip exfoliate I regret it. It ALWAYS makes my lipstick last hours longer. It exfoliates and moisturizes my lips and basically just gets them all ready for some lippy. Seriously, if you don’t exfoliate those babies get on to it. I use the Lush Lip Scrub (bubblegum is my personal favourite) which retails at about $12. I know it seems like a waste of money but it seriously lasts for ages and tastes so delicious! If you didn’t want to spend money then I’m sure you could make your own with some sugar 🙂

Okay class, that’s it for today. I know I haven’t done “50 beauty tips and tricks” and there’s only 7… but that’s because I wanted to use ones that I actually use like every day! Let me know if you want to see more of these, or if you never want to hear about them again! Hopefully some of you picked up some new tricks and you hadn’t heard of them all before!

Also if you have a good tip you’d like to share with me PLEASE do! I love hearing people’s ideas and let’s face it. Who doesn’t want to make their beauty regime faster & more efficient?

My Mac lipstick collection ♥♥

Good morning class,

I think I’m going to go for a “lip week” theme for this week, and then a foundation week next week? I quite like themes – I think it’s a teacher thing. Let me know if there’s a ‘theme’ you’d like me to feature on the blog? Drugstore? High end? Brushes? Shopping? etc.

Anyway, this is my current Mac Cosmetics lipstick collection! Oh so exciting, and I know it’s a popular sort of a topic, so I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve done some lip swatches as well as arm swatches for you. The lip swatches are a bit average because my makeup wasn’t lookin’ great, it’s the last day of the school holidays, lighting was bad, I need a new camera, my lips hurt after like 3 lipsticks etc. You get the picture – enough with the excuses – (my parent’s always told me I should be a lawyer because I’m so good at arguing my case and coming up with excuses) – let’s get into it!

Okay so from left to right my lipsticks are as follows;

Myth, Oxblood, Snob, Saint Germain, Dodgy Girl, Candy Yum-Yum, Vegas Volt, Impassioned, Viva Glam Miley, Phoromenal, Ruby Woo, Rebel

Here are some arm swatches for you 🙂

Now I’ll show you the lovely lip swatches and talk a little bit about each lipstick!

First up – Viva Glam Miley (Amplified); This is SO wearable! Super similar to Impassioned it’s a gorgeous medium pink. Not too bright, not too not bright (if that makes any sense). I have been wearing the heck out of this one since I bought it recently. I love that the profit from it goes to a good cause. I love that it’s designed by Miley (or helped designed by). I love the way it looks on me! Go buy it. It’s pretty much donating to charity – guilt free!

This is Dodgy Girl (matte) from the Kelly Osborne range so it is a limited edition one – sorry! Unfortunately for you guys it’s also my favourite Mac lipstick from the collection and it’s in the running as my favourite lipstick of all time! It’s the most amazing lavender colour and I think it’s really flattering. I love it for a bit of a bright lip! It’s matte but it’s really not drying at all. It lasts for ages as well! ♥

mac lipstick collection ruby woo myth oxblood snob saint gemain dodgy girl impassioned candy yum yum vegas volt viva glam miley pheromonal rebel swatches review

Sorry team! Another limited edition! This time it’s from the Toledo collection – you may have seen it in a previous post but it’s Oxblood (matte) and it’s another one of my favourites! I find the matte formulas on the limited edition lipsticks are much nicer than the regular mattes. This one is so creamy and it lasts for ages! It’s like a slightly lighter Kylie Jenner lip. SUPER wearable though. I love it. ♥

Oooh now this is a Miss White colour if I’ve ever seen one! You guys know I love bright pinks and this is the Queen of bright pink! Candy Yum-Yum (matte) is such a gorgeous colour and I don’t wear it enough. I think the problem is that it’s quite drying on my lips and I have other colours which are less drying and look almost identical. However I still think it’s a must-have for pink lovers!

mac lipstick collection ruby woo myth oxblood snob saint gemain dodgy girl impassioned candy yum yum vegas volt viva glam miley pheromonal rebel swatches review

Myth (satin) is probably my favourite nude by Mac – although I only own two of them. (I did own Creme de Nude but it was too sheer for my lips). I absolutely love it though. It’s like the perfect nude for me. It’s almost too light but I think I get away with it! Usually I’d wear it with the Chi Chi Totally Nude lip liner underneath to jazz it up a bit. I probably wouldn’t recommend this one if you’ve got darker skin than me as it may wash you out. I love the formula though, it lasts a long time and it’s just that little bit glossy which suits the colour well.

mac lipstick collection ruby woo myth oxblood snob saint gemain dodgy girl impassioned candy yum yum vegas volt viva glam miley pheromonal rebel swatches reviewPheromonal (Sheen Supreme) was in fact gifted to me by a male – I was super impressed! It’s not like any other lipstick I’ve got – and I think that’s because I usually stay away from lipsticks with sheer in the name because my lip colour is too dark for them. However I think this one has just the right amount of pigmentation and it leaves a gorgeous glossy finish on the lip. It doesn’t last for very long, but it looks darn good before it wears off. I like this one for a bit of gloss – it’s hard to apply on my lips though because the lipstick is rounded at the top and my lips are quite pointy as you can see.

Vegas Volt (Amplified) is a gorgeous coral orange. I’m not hugely into corals because I think they look weird on me for some reason but this is the only one I’ll wear. It’s sort of slightly pinky enough that it doesn’t wash me out too much or look too weird. I don’t get a lot of wear out of this one just because I’m scared of the colour but I should wear it more often I think. It’s got a fab finish (love those amplified’s!) and it’s nicely pigmented.

Bless! Saint Germain (Amplified) was my first ever Mac lipstick! Of course I was hooked in by Shaaanxo as it happens to be her favourite Mac lipstick. My younger brother bought it for me for my birthday and it’s got the most wear out of any of my lipsticks! Damn did I rock this when I first got it. It is on the light side but I think it looks really nice! I love a good baby pink and this one is the right colour for me. I would 100% recommend. Wears nicely.

Next one is Impassioned (Amplified); This is a gorgeous pink! It’s not too crazy bright, but it does come off quite dark on my lips. It’s super wearable and not drying. I love this one for an everyday look – and the kids at school like it too! I need to wear it more often!

Obviously I was getting sick of the poses so I am getting a little crazy it seems. This gorgeous number is probably my second-most-worn Mac lipstick and it’s Snob (satin). I LOVE this colour! I think it’s the most wearable of all. It’s just like the best muted pink ever made. I’ve bought about a million dupes but honestly nothing comes close to the real thing. It wears so well, and it looks damn good. I think you need this one gals.

Ruby Woo (Matte) is such a gorgeous red for light skin tones. It just looks crazy flattering. It’s the first red I bought (yes, I used to be scared of red) and it’s still my favourite red of all time. The only problem with this one as it’s about as dry as the desert. It’s SO dry. It drys out my lips instantly and it does not glide on. I have to use a lip balm before it or a gloss over top or else it just makes my lips look horrible. I wish it was a nicer matte formula but that’s okay.

Rebel (satin) is another one of my faves. I didn’t think it was going to look like this on my lips to be honest. It comes up a little more plumy than I’d hoped (I was hoping for more of a vampy purple). However I’ve grown to like it. It looks extra good with a darker lip liner (I like Leather by Colourpop). As always, it’s a pretty good formula and it wears okay. Not super long-lasting but it doesn’t come off instantly. It’s the perfect colour for autumn and I think I’ll be getting some more wear out of it very soon.

Well that’s it guys! That’s my Mac lipstick collection. Let me know what you think below! What’s your favourite Mac lipstick? More importantly are there any more that I NEED in my collection? I can’t wait to make it grow! Let me know in the comments section 🙂

Colourpop Haul Part 3! The obsession will never end…! ♥

Colourpop haul review

Good morning class,

I told you I was obsessed with Colourpop! I have since sneaked into an order with a friend and got ANOTHER Lippie Stick which I will put in my next haul (Part 4) because they have highlighters coming out soon so I’m definitely going to make another (LARGE) order.

The sad fact is that I actually need to buy myself some more storage purely for my Colourpop range. (Show me your storage! I need some inspo)

Okay, anyway this time I purchased 5 Super Shock Eye Shadows, 2 Super Shock Cheeks and 3 Lippie Stix. Not as large as my last haul but it was a goodie & I am in LOVE!

5 Photos that make me happy ♥

Good morning class,

I was tagged to do this post by my wonderful friend and fellow admin over on Girl Related Jordanne who also runs the AMAZING blog A Little Pinch of Wonder

I’m going to tag Beauty and the Mechanic, and a new friend Katie from Plus+ Beauty .

Basically, I’m going to have a wee look through my old photo albums and post 5 pictures that make me happy and tell you why 🙂

The first photo I chose is literally the first photo Tom and I ever took together and I am pretty sure this was taken on the first or second day we met. (Long story, if you want me to post about how we met then let me know in the comments below – it’s pretty cute!). Anyway I love it because I still feel just as happy, if not happier than I look in this photo 5 years later ♥♥

Trust me, They’re Real! ♥

IMG_2555

Good morning class,

I have been so lucky to receive some goodies from the lovely ladies at Benefit NZ and I’ve taken a few weeks to get to know them, try them out, so that I can give you my honest opinions on them. You know that I wouldn’t review something on this blog if I didn’t like it. Whether I have received it for free, or if I had been paid to talk about it, if I didn’t like the product I would not mention it at all. I have already been approached by a brand who’s products I did not believe in. They will not be featured on this blog.

However, the products I am here to chat about today I do believe in. In fact, one of them especially is a miracle worker, a Saviour and has become like a good friend. I received the Benefit They’re Real Remover and the They’re Real Push-Up Liner two weeks ago and haven’t looked back.
