August Favourites Favorites

Good morning class,

Today I’d like to share with you my favourites for the month of August. I am well aware that I don’t do these favourites posts on the regular, but that’s purely because I don’t change my favourites that often. Some of these are a little bit new as well, so either you would have just heard about them on here, or you may probably be hearing about them fairly soon!

Let’s not muck around (a line I use on the daily).

Tartelette Palette

tartelette palette review swatches

Guys – it’s signed by Samantha from Batalash, it’s looks gorgeous, it’s all matte shades and they’re insane quality. Enough said. (If that isn’t enough said for you then check out my detailed review of the Tartelette palette)

TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer Highlighter

The Balm Mary-Lou manizer

Another product that I’ve raved about on the regular. If you’ve never heard about this goddess then you’ve been living under a rock. It’s the most incredible highlight on the market, plus it’s a damn good eyeshadow crease/brow bone/inner corner colour! Again, enough said. (Again, if this isn’t enough said for you then check out more raving about the Mary Lou-manizer here) (PPS: I will be doing a highlight related post for you all sometime in the near future so stay tuned!)

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in 115

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless

You KNOW I am loving this foundation at the moment! What more is there to say but it’s cheap, it’s lightweight, it’s comfortable. There are a few downsides to it – which I’ve written about in my ‘Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation review post‘ but I’m still liking it so far, and it seems to last quite well at school which is a major PLUS +.

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil in Light it Up AND Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lippy in Succulent LIP COMBO!

Colourpop Succulent Maybelline Color Drama

This is my current favourite lip combo by FAR. Usually, I never wear a red lip. I never thought it suited me, which is strange considering a red lip seems to suit every man and his dog. It all started when I got the Maybelline Color Drama lip pencil in my MUO Beauty Box. I thought that maybe I could finally pull off a red lip? Then when I ordered the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lippys I thought I’d grab a red shade for good measure. Voila! A match made in heaven + lots of compliments for a makeup-loving teacher. I’m sold.

L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper

L'Oreal Brow artist Plumper

I take a while to get on the ‘brow product train’ (toot toot). I don’t know why that is. Maybe I’m not confident with brows, maybe my brows are too thick and full, maybe I’ve never paid attention to brows so I don’t like spending money on products for those big hairy slugs above my eyes. Who knows. The glorious thing is – I won’t need to jump on the train again. This is all I need in the way of a sticking-brows-in-place-slash-plumper product. This is it. The holy grail. I’d heard a LOT about this baby, everything positive. I have the same opinion. The brush is nice and small, the shade is perfection, I’ll never run out because you use so little and the packaging is so HUGE. It’s just easy to use and it suits my brows to a T.

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Backstage Bambi

Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick Jeffree

GUYS! I’ve found it! This is the best liquid lipstick formula out there! I promise you.

You know I love a nice dry, DO-NOT-MOVE, pigmented formula right? However nothing that ticks all those boxes is thaaaat comfortable to wear. I mean I deal with it, but I can feel it on my lips ya know? THIS astonishing formula ticks all those boxes AND I CAN’T FEEL IT ON MY LIPS! I’m not joking. It feels like heaven. It feels like nothing. It’s my favourite liquid lipstick to date and I will definitely be purchasing more! The colour is nice and bright too – a very “me” colour.

MAC Fix + Spray

Mac Prep + prime Fix +

Omg guys, I know. Everyone tells you to buy this. I always thought it was glorified water – but since I bought it I have been using it to mix with eye shadows and make them POP and it is fantastic. It makes my pigments and shadows look amazing and really stand out. At $10US for a mini bottle of this stuff – it’s so worth it! I’m probably going to buy the full size next time though so I never run out! It’s just a handy product to have.

Mac Eye shadow Pan in Nylon

Mac Eyeshadow Nylon

I do only own four MAC eye shadows, but this one is by FAR my favourite. It’s the perfect inner corner colour and lately, I’ve been wearing it on my inner corner every day. It’s consistently good, why bother using anything else? I’ve already repurchased a back up of this!

Australis Metallix Eye Shadow in Guns and Rose Petals

Australis Metallix Guns and Rose Petals

Last but certainly not least, this is my favourite shade from the Metallix Eyeshadow range by Australis. It’s like this highlighty, rosey, silvery, shimmery shade which looks PERFECT on the lid of your eyes. You can surround it with any colour and it’s going to look outstanding and make your eyes POP! I have been wearing this every weekend – with no regrets. If you want to check out some swatches of the Australis Metallix Eyeshadows then click here

Annnnd here’s my favourites for the month of August! August wasn’t a great month, to be honest – but makeup (and my class & family) got me through, as usual. What are your current favourites? I don’t NEED to do more shopping, but I sort of want to!

Any highlighters that you’re particularly fond of? I’m in a highlighter-buying mood… comment down below!

  1. I love Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick. They really are the best formula for liquid lipsticks so far in my opinion. Backstage Bambi is a stunning color but my fav is still Bahau5. You should try it when you get the chance. Overall great favs girlie!
