Lipstick Collection | My 6 Most Used Lipsticks ♥

Lipsticks I use Everyday Colourpop Ultra Matte YSL Rouge Pur Couture Mac Kat Von D

Good morning class,

I always have a little pang of guilt every time I lay eyes on my lipstick collection because there are so many that I barely use. However I can’t bare to get rid of them because I like to have the option of using them at some point. (Silly, I know!).

If you know me from school (and I know there are some staff/parents who read my ramblings – Hi! Thank you for reading!) then you know that I do try to wear an array of bright colours on my lips each week. However, if you’ve ever been to my house, you’d know it would take me about half a year to get through every lipstick I own if I wore one different shade each day.

I thought perhaps by writing this post, it might make me discover lipsticks that haven’t seen the light of day in a while and try to get some use out of my collection. Plus it will let YOU all know which lipsticks you should probably go and buy 😉 (sorry, not sorry).

Strobing Made Easy | with the Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice ♥

Sleek Makeup Highlighting Solstice Palette Strobing Review Swatches

Good morning class,

Bear with me while I contain my excitement… you know I’m obsessed with highlighters and this palette really takes the cake. Rose gold packaging, a purple shade, super pigmented, cheap… can we just take a minute to bask in it’s glory?

Okay, I’ve pulled myself together – let’s chat!

Strobing is something I am a complete amateur towards and to be honest I’m still sort of getting my head around contouring. Isn’t strobing just highlighting as per usual? Apparently not.

The way I see it, strobing is like excess highlighting. “Bulk” highlighting as Crystal Conte might put it. This palette literally does make ‘strobing’ ultra easy. I know that sounds cheesy and hopefully I didn’t put you off with that cliched, cheesy title. However I’m only being honest!

Today I’m going to chat about my favourite highlighters and why, and I’m also going to ask you to PLEASE tell me what your favourites are?! I’d love to buy some more highlighters to add to my collection, so I’d love to know what you’ve been loving!

Favourites | August 2015

August Favourites Favorites

Good morning class,

Today I’d like to share with you my favourites for the month of August. I am well aware that I don’t do these favourites posts on the regular, but that’s purely because I don’t change my favourites that often. Some of these are a little bit new as well, so either you would have just heard about them on here, or you may probably be hearing about them fairly soon!

Let’s not muck around (a line I use on the daily).

Review | Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette

tartelette palette review swatches

Good morning class,

Alleluia!   Alleluia!  Alleluia! ALLELUIA! (Jeez, you know when you type a word too much or look at a word for too long and it just does NOT look right? Yeah that totally happened with Alleluia. It is such a strange word…).

This palette is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and it’s changed my life. I PROMISE YOU. Out of all my palettes this is by far the most life-changing. I know this sounds cliched coming from a “beauty blogger” but hand-on-heart, I swear to God, this is life.

Review | e.l.f. Acne Fighting Foundation with Before & After

elf acne fighting foundation review before and after

Good morning class,

Today I’d like to chat about what is probably (it’s a hard decision) my favourite foundation of all time. It’s not the foundation I wear most days because I think other foundations perform a little better or last a little better for school, however all things considered this one is my fave!

The Products I’m so obsessed with that I NEED Back-Ups! Feat. NARS, Australis, TheBalm, Stila + ♥

Products I would repurchase back up NARS Mary Lou

Good morning class,

Today I’m back to being a ‘serial raver’ after I talked in my previous post about the ‘Products I would not repurchase’ and I wanted to take it a step further in a positive way and talk about the products I LOVE SO MUCH that I literally have or need back-ups.

I am the type of person (and I’ve said this before) that literally feels anxious when I don’t have a back-up of a favourite product. My boyfriend would totally scoff at that but it’s definitely true! Does anyone else feel this way!?

Miss White’s Bathroom Essentials ♥

Bath bathroom essentials must have

Good morning class,

Today we are going to learn about essential bathroom products that Miss White HAS to have in her bathroom at all times.

I am one of those people that get anxious when I don’t have a back up of a product I love. (This will be reiterated in a future post, so sorry in advance for repeating). Bathroom products probably make me the most anxious because I use them so often that they run out quickly. Often I find myself buying in bulk – especially if they’re on sale.

I am going to show you my favourite products I’m using in my bathroom right now. Including; skincare, shampoo, conditioner, razor, bath products, shower gel etc.

Let’s get into it!

Disclaimer, I am not paid by Lush – I honestly just LOVE them.

Let’s start with my weird shampoo/conditioner combo. I just use drugstore/supermarket shampoo & conditioner because my hair is far too long and I was it too often to bother with the expensive stuff. I’d probably have to take out a loan, honestly.

Pantene Palmolive Strawberry Smoother

I’ve used Palmolive Naturals shampoo for SO many years. Probably since before I left home which was about 7 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long! – Mum! I miss you). It’s cheap at around $4 on sale. It smells absolutely amazing – all the colours smell good, I often mix it up and try a new colour for a few weeks when I want a change. I don’t find the different types/”bottle colours” change the formula too much and I haven’t really noticed a change in my hair when using them. I usually use this pink one which is Intensive Moisture because I like the smell and my hair could always do with some extra moisture. I love that the formula is quite thick and it creates a perfect lather! Love it! I honestly get comments on the smell of my hair with this shampoo!

I’ve got Pantene conditioner here because A. I hate the matching Palmolive conditioner and B. There’s a few conditioners I like and this is one of them. I am extremely picky when it comes to conditioner. Because my hair is so horrendously long I need a conditioner that is thick in formula. I like them white and thick. None of that semi-transparent, watery crap. I use Pantene, Tresemme or this new Garnier one. I usually go for Tresemme because the bottle is bigger and I use so much at a time that I run out too fast with the other kinds. However this Pantene one – it’s all good.

My exfoliator of choice is this Palmolive Strawberry Smoother Body Butter. It’s also cheap and it also smells divine. However it’s actually just a good exfoliant as well. (WordPress seems to think both exfoliant and exfoliator are not words, if this is the case and I made them up then I apologize!). It’s also pink, and I like pink. Plus Tom likes it so he doesn’t make me pay for it myself – which he does with conditioner because apparently I use too much of it!

BIC Soleil twilight razor

Since the beginning of time (my time, shaving my legs) I have used these BIC Soleil shavers/razors or whatever you want to call them. They only sell the Twilight version in the ones I like now, but there used to be these orange ones as well which were cheaper. I like these because again, they don’t cost an arm and a leg like those fancy ones do. They work well, they’re also pink, and the wee moisturizing strip at the top is just lovely. I recommend them.

queen helene mint julep face mask

I’ve probably talked about it before but the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask is fantastic. It smells like mint which is one of my favourite smells ever. It is a clay-like mask which I also like. It does wonders for my skin and I try to use it once a week. It calms break outs and is SO good for my oily skin! I buy mine from iHerb which is an amazing site that ships all over the world and sells everything natural and healthy you could possibly imagine! Food, makeup, skincare, supplements, haircare, you name it, iHerb has it. I’ve got a coupon code which you can use for $10 off if you spend over $40, otherwise $5 off. That’s the price of this mask! The code is: KPN384

Lush Jelly Sweetie Pie

Sweetie Pie by Lush is gorgeous. It’s literally a jelly and you use it as a soap to wash yourself with. It smells AHMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly. The smell is perfect. GO and smell it at a Lush store. It makes you smell like it as well. It smells like lollies. It’s $7. Buy it.

Lush dark Angels cleanser oily skin

Dark Angels by Lush is something I’ve talked about before here and I’m still obsessed. It’s my go-to cleanser for my oily skin. If you have oily skin you legit need it. It’s a black, dry, mud-like consistency and you mix it with a little bit of water and smother it over your face. It cleanses and exfoliates and gets rid of all that excess oil. It does wonders for my breakouts and I use it a couple of times a week.

Lush also has some amazing bath products. These are two of my faves and the two that I have that aren’t half used or are now remnants in my bath tub. The purple sparkly one is called Space Girl and it’s a Bath Bomb and the pink one is called Rose Jam and it’s a Bubble Bar.

Space Girl Lush bath bomb

Rose Jam Macaroon Lush Bubble Bar Bath

The bath bombs smell gorgeous and turn your bath into a coloured pool of unicorn urine. (I imagine unicorn urine would be purple and sparkly and smell gorgeous of course). The bubble bars are cool too, I use half at a time. Basically you crumble them up under the tap and they turn into mounds of delicious bubbles. Bubbles can be used in lots of different ways. You can use them to cover the body parts your not fond of, you can cover your whole self so no-one knows that you’re in the bath, you can eat them (I used to do that as a child, they don’t taste nice), you can use them to keep warm, or you can use them to make you feel like a  luxurious super star/model/actress. Either way, bubbles are fun and they’re a bath time essential. Shop Lush here – or check out your local Lush store! The bath bombs & bubble bars are around $8NZ each

Candle Crush Soy Candy Store

Lastly, I’ve got my Candle Crush candle in Like a Kid in a Candy Store which is the corner dairy in a nutshell. It smells like lollies. I LOVE the smell of lollies. It actually makes my entire house smell like lollies. I often light it when I’m writing blogs to get me in a descriptive mood. You can buy from Candle Crush here and they’re $32.95 NZ

What are your bathroom essentials? I’d love to hear about them! I always like to try out new things. Do you use any of these products? PLEASE tell me you’ve tried the Lush bath bombs! Comment down below & let’s chat. xx

Za Cosmetics foundation & BB cream review + ANOTHER GIVEAWAY! ♥ ♥

ZA Cosmetics Foundation

Good morning class,

Today I’m excited to share with you a review on the three Za Cosmetics foundation-type products I own! I’ve been trialing these for a month or two now and I’m getting ants in my pants because I just want to tell you all about them! I’ve also got a Za Cosmetics Blender Sponge to giveaway as well which is one of my FAVE cheaper versions of the Beauty Blender. Stay tuned for how to win!

I’ve got the Za True White Liquid Foundation, the Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV and the Za Skin Beauty Liquid Foundation to review and I will do a wee bonus review on the Za Blender Sponge as well!

Za Cosmetics were kind enough to gift me one of these products (the True White Liquid Foundation) but I got the other two myself. You can buy Za Products from these stockists in store or here online

Za True White Liquid Foundation

This one is my FAVOURITE of the three because it’s more up my alley. It’s medium coverage but easily blended to a full coverage, it lasts for most of the day (which is pretty good considering my skin is literally an oil slick, and it has an awesome range of lighter shades! Which is great if you’ve got fair to medium skin tones but not so great if you’ve got a darker skin tone. It’s also the most expensive at $25 NZ – however $25 for a foundation = pretty awesome in my books! I think this one is great value and it looks gorgeous, dewy and BRIGHT on the skin. It sinks into the skin and feels really lightweight despite being a medium/full coverage foundation. I like to wear this one when I want fuller coverage but I don’t want to feel all cakey and I don’t NEED it to last all day flawlessly. I mean, don’t get me wrong. This stuff does have great lasting power! However when you’re an oily teacher in a hot classroom who likes to touch her face, NOTHING lasts long on that mug. I’d say it would last all day on most people. It doesn’t slide off my face either which is great! Not sure about dry skin – however my good friend Olivia (Xlivlovesmakeup) over on YouTube did a review of it as well here and she has dry skin! Subscribe to her please – shes a total babe!

ZA Cosmetics Foundation

Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV

Okay – I just want to start by telling a little story. One day I had a few pimps on my tomato-red chin (ladies time) and I was mucking round home but wanted to chuck on SOMETHING so I didn’t have to screw my face up in disgust every time I caught sight of myself in the mirror. I popped on a bit of this BB cream with my Za Blender Sponge and set it with a tiny touch of powder, a swipe of mascara and went on my way. Fast Forward to about 30 mins later. Tom comes in. Looks at me and is like “WOW you look gorgeous without makeup babe”. Moral of the story – men can’t tell whether your wearing makeup or not, and this BB cream is my new fave. It gives a really decent amount of coverage for a BB cream. It’s SUPER lightweight on the skin. It actually FEELS amazing on the skin – like it’s definitely hydrating! I really love it for a BB cream and I’d definitely wear it out (which is a big call because I rarely leave the house without a full face – mainly due to the fact I love applying makeup more than anything but also slightly because of that dreaded tomato chin). Would totes recommend it – plus it only costs $15! Steal.

ZA Cosmetics Foundation

Za Skin Beauty Foundation (apparently in the swatch I thought it was called Perfect Fit for some reason… excuse that)

This foundation is definitely my least favourite of the bunch. With my skin type and my preferences it really doesn’t do much for me. It’s definitely a light coverage – lighter than the BB cream. It doesn’t sit on my skin nicely and I don’t think it mixes well with my oily skin. It is advertised to “instantly even out skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores” which is definitely not the case for me. My skin is quite scarred from break outs on my chin which is probably why I don’t like it because it’s simply not pigmented enough to satisfy my coverage needs. However, it would be perfect for someone who was only after a light coverage, matte finish foundation. It’s definitely not a bad foundation, it feels nice on the skin, it blends out nicely and applies well, the colours are great for fair skin and it does give some coverage, however I cannot get it to work for me unfortunately! This one retails for $20 🙂

Overall

I think Za Cosmetics makes some pretty decent foundations + products in general. I’ve recently acquired a whole lot of their products (some gifted to me by the company, and some from friends or purchased myself) and I am really loving them! They have a great price point for New Zealand, they’re good quality, they have a HUGE range of makeup and skincare and their sister brand Moisture Mist is also fantastic. They also have great customer service and they do a whole lot of giveaways and deals over on their Facebook page – check it out!

ZA Cosmetics blender sponge

Za Blender Sponge review + giveaway

So I also got two of the Blender Sponge’s from Za and I am LOVING using my one! It’s definitely not beauty blender – however it’s difficult to compare it to the beauty blender because the bb is so different to this product. The Za sponge is larger and more dense than the beauty blender and is more comparable to the Real Techniques sponge. I actually prefer it to the RT sponge because it’s bigger and a better shape which makes it easier and quicker to use. Lord knows I’m always trying to find ways of making my makeup routine quicker in the morning when I’m running late and this product does that! I find the application of the product itself no different to that of the beauty blender or Real Techniques sponge and I actually find this product much easier to clean. It doesn’t store away old product inside the sponge like the beauty blender does. It’s easy to get out ALL of the product from inside the sponge and then it’s as good as new again. Personally, for the price (around $20 but they often have deals where this is free with another face purchase etc), I think that this is a fantastic sponge. It applies product nicely, is quick and easy, simple to wash and lasts longer than the other sponges I’ve tried.

I’ve got one of these sponges to give away to a lucky reader in NZ + some other Za goodies! The reason why it’s only NZ is because when I do an international giveaway I want to give away something expensive to make it worthwhile because of shipping etc. If I posted this sponge internationally then the postage could cost nearly as much as the sponge itself! So stay tuned for an international giveaway.
