Okay I need a big fat DISCLAIMER right here. I am well aware that every man and his dog are talking about Mellow Cosmetics right now. (If you haven’t heard then you can ignore this message). Yes, they very well may be getting paid for it too. Did I get sent these products for free? Yes. Did I get paid to talk about these products? No. Would I repurchase these products with my own money? YES. I think it would be pretty fair to say any raving done by myself or anyone else (paid or unpaid) is totally just and truthful. I would not be going this crazy over nothing. I pinky swear!

In fact I am going to repurchase some of the shades I didn’t get sent because SPOILER ALERT these Lip Paints are a game changer. I’m talkin’ some Colourpop-esque hype is gonna happen around here very soon.

L.A. Girl PRO.conceal contouring and correcting review

(I thought I should use a variation of greetings to start my posts seeing as that is what we do in class!)

Today I thought I’d have a go at contouring with the L.A. Girl PRO.conceal coloured concealers. I’ve talked about these before in a really old post here but I’ve since picked up a few more colours and used them for over a year so I feel like I have a good understanding and appreciation for the product now.

I am totally not a contouring professional. Everything I know, I’ve learnt from Shaaanxo (we all know shes basically a makeup goddess).  However you can see me try (and maybe fail) at a bit of cream contouring and I’ll swatch and review the concealers for you – how does that sound?

Today I’m so excited because I GOT ENGAGED!!!

I didn’t get engaged today – it was on the 6th of March – but I’ve been quite busy with school and wedding planning etc.

Anyway, I bet you’re all aching to hear about how it happened – and I’m so excited to tell you! It is such an amazing proposal he couldn’t have done it any better.

How I Stopped Biting My Nails ♥

Good morning class,

Today I want to chat about nails! You’ll notice I haven’t talked about nails or nail polish very much on my blog and that is because I only stopped biting them near the end of last year. I wasn’t a horrific nail biter who bites right into the nail bed. However I had been biting for as long as I can remember and I have never in my life had nice nails (until now).

I know it’s gross, but I didn’t mean to do it! It was a force of habit and there were two reasons why it happened. #1 I would run my teeth along the underside of my nail (YUCK) and it would eventually weaken and get a crack or something and then I’d have to “fix it up” with my teeth. Or #2 when I was nervous or watching a movie I’d bite them as a way of fiddling or taking my mind off it or something.

I absolutely hated having gross, bitten nails. I really dislike my hands anyway (they’re small, my fingers are double jointed and they look weird) but having bad nails definitely made things worse. I had been trying to stop biting them for a good few months before I succeeded but I always broke or weakened a nail and started from square one again!

I’m one of those people who needs their nails to all be the same. So if one is bitten, the others need to be. If my nail polish has chipped off on one, I pick it off all the others and so forth.

Anyway here is how I stopped biting them!

Super Lush Cosmetics Boxing Day Haul

Well, 2015 was the year of the Lush obsession… anyone else? There’s literally nothing better than a Lush bath after a long, hard day of teaching 6 year olds. I became mildly obsessed with having a bath each week featuring a Lush goodie (like a bath bomb, bubble bar or some FUN!) since becoming a bath owner earlier in 2015. It had been a good 5-6 years since I had lived in a house with a bath before then. The last bath-house was my beloved parents home – I wish I still lived there… anyone else?

I do realize I’m horrifically late for the party on this one but I thought I’d better do an obligatory 2015 favourites post because, well I have lots of faves and it’s sort of nice to round off the year like that (even though it’s February…)

I’ve decided to focus on makeup items because once I started delving into the skincare I wanted to do bath and body and then hair care and it just never ends! So I am just sticking with makeup today 😀

Some of these products you would have definitely heard me talk about. I tried to think of things that I used most often and replaced quickly when I ran out, and got really excited when I thought of using them as a way to choose these favourites – but trust me, it was REALLY HARD! (I actually have more than 15 things to tell you about too… but I’m sure you’ll forgive me!)

What I Received From my Secret Santa ♥ | Haul

Don’t you just love Secret Santa’s? I do! It’s probably one of my favourite things to do during the lead-up to Christmas time. I just love buying cute wee presents for someone and making them smile. I like secretly stalking them to find out what they love. I like overspending (I always overspend) and making them that much happier. I just love gift giving!

I participated in a Secret Santa-type project run by an amazing bloggers group on Facebook called Instabeautyau. Basically, we were paired up with someone else (also a blogger or beauty Instagrammer) who was living in a similar area to us as there are both Australians and New Zealanders on the page. This Secret Santa wasn’t quite so secret, as we both knew who we were and had to sort out the gift giving between us.
